Special election Ward 4 voting TODAY
Those vying for the Ward 4 council seat were in studio last week and all their interviews are posted on our website kymnradio.net. Jessica Peterson White, who was appointed to the position at the end of 2012 considers herself a collaborative and open-minded leader. She has been a consistent supporter of the Tiger Trail. Scott Oney would like to get back to basics. He says taxpayers are fatigued and need a break from big projects. He is not in favor of the Tiger Trail, believing it’s really a recreational trail and that we already have a safe crossing at 2nd street. Rick Esse sees himself as an independent voice and a creative problem solver. He too, is not in favor of the Tiger Trail with it’s escalating cost. Voting takes place today for Ward 4 only. Parking Ban begins November 15th
Winter weather’s coming and so is the overnight parking ban in Northfield. Police Chief Chuck Walerius says the ban goes into effect on November 15th through March 15th. You cannot park on any street from 2am to 6am. It will be in effect every day of the week regardless of snowfall. No snow emergency needs to be called. If there’s an overnight snowfall, those vehicles parked in the street pose a problem. Walerius says they don’t want to tow vehicles. The floors have been poured. You can check the progress of the new police facility on the City’s website under City Administrator memo. http://www.ci.northfield.mn.us/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/993
