Liquor license granted and Liberty Park plat finalized
The Northfield City Council had a short meeting after dropping approval for changes to the Land Development Code. This would basically allow microbreweries and micro-distilleries in certain zones of the City and allow them to serve their product on site. The Planning Commission recommended the change, however, in the meantime, language in the State law regarding the number of gallons these places could produce changed. Mayor Graham said staff wanted to get the correct information before bringing it to Council. City Administrator Haggenmiller said they’ll readdress the issue with the Planning Commission. It will come back to council June 2nd. Council held a public hearing and then approved a liquor license for Gran Plaza II, a Mexican restaurant to open at 2018 Jefferson Rd. (the former Kurry Kabob). They also approved changes at Liberty Park. One addition was originally zoned for 2 – 4 unit townhomes. Owner, Paul Smith, asked for approval to change it to 4 single rambler style homes. Mayor Graham’s interview this morning is on kymnradio.net.
