Notice of Restricted Outdoor Burning – Rice County
April 8, 2014
Because of rising temperatures and high winds predicted for Wednesday into Thursday, the MN DNR and Sheriff’s office is recommending no open burning other than recreational fires or grilling. This restriction will go into effect at 6:00 AM Wednesday, April 9, 2014. All burning permits issued in Rice County are hereby suspended by the authority of the Rice County Sheriff until further notice. Only recreational campfires and grilling are allowed. Per state statute, campfires cannot be
more than three feet in diameter by three feet high. “I would still caution citizens to use good judgment and exercise caution in grilling or recreational fires.” according to Sheriff Troy Dunn. Thank you for your cooperation.
