The Northfield City Council meets for a work session tonight at 7 o’clock. The Northfield Roundtable will present a short Power Point presentation on findings concerning a safe crossing at 3rd street and Hwy 3. They’ll discuss their Capital Improvement Plan with an emphasis on a couple of major projects; upgrades to the City Wastewater Treatment Plant over the next five to ten years and the needs of the Ice Arena which means the elimination of freon by 2020. With the harsh winter, and now spring break-up, the condition of Riverview Drive/Cannon Road/Cannon Lane in the vicinity of the new Police Building is become especially bad. This particular section of roadway had been scheduled for the 2015 construction season. However, since this section of roadway is on the state aid system, it may be possible to move its repair up to this coming construction season.
