Minnesotans for Safe Driving Donates PBT’s to Northfield Police

RE: Donation of Equipment to aid Traffic Enforcement
The Northfield Police Department would like to announce and thank Minnesotans for Safe Driving for donating two Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) instruments to the department. The donation will help the NPD reach their goal of having a PBT in each patrol car. These PBT’s make it possible for officers to more effectively enforce alcohol related offenses, particularly drinking and driving violations.
Nancy Johnson approved the donation on behalf of Minnesotans for Safe Driving; she is the
Legislative Liaison and Past President for the Safe Driving group. Minnesotans for Safe Driving
advocate for and promote traffic safety through Education, Legislation and Collaboration with Law Enforcement. Much of their funding comes from the fees paid by DWI offenders for Victim/Driver Impact Panels provided by Minnesotans for Safe Driving. Follow this link for more information: mnsafedriving.com
Kathy Cooper of the Rice County Safe Roads Coalition was also instrumental in arranging the
donation. Cooper and Johnson both serve on the Safe Roads Coalition, and have worked for years to help make Minnesota roads safer for everyone. They strive to provide better state laws, funding, and tools for our communities, law enforcement, and courts to improve traffic safety.
